Disbursements Associate

FLSA STATUS: Full Time, Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Banking Manager

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Associates are responsible for handling the process of banking transactions and disbursements to participants in the
flexible benefit plan area.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Produce checks for clients related to their flexible spending account with the Firm.
  • Create and send reports to clients.
  • Prepare ACH transfers to and from clients.
  • Monitor money coming in from clients.
  • Process HSA distributions and adjustments
  • Process Debit Card Repayments and prepare deposits.
  • Answer client questions over the phone and via e-mail regarding disbursement issues.
  • Initiate direct deposits of flexible spending account funds.
  • Send files to the bank.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of business experience.
  • Banking experience.
  • Proficiency with computer, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and calculators.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must possess knowledge of banking transactions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

  • Demonstrates the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
  • Must be detail and process-oriented.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partners, the public, and clients.
  • Adapts communication style and content to the needs and composition of the audience.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week regularly throughout the year. Hours during peak times may be in excess of 45 hours per week.
